On Repeat
What’s stuck in my head and on my body
I’ve been going down a serious rabbit hole discovering new-to-me photographers, and saving all their work for inspiration. Inspiration for what exactly, I’m not sure. But it’s my current obsession.
On a related note, one of my New Year’s resolutions was to “pull the thread” on things that pique my interest. So the other day when I finally had time to sit down and read the December issue of Vogue, I took my time reading it, but I grabbed my phone and took quick photos of the name of every photographer.
After I was done reading, I googled each one to check out their work, read a quick bio, etc. It was a very interesting and fun way to spend an hour. Here are their portfolios, if you too want to pull the thread for a few minutes…
Mikael Jansson, Steven Klein (I was familiar with his name, but knew nothing about him), Annie Leibovitz (household name of course, but still fun to look at her portfolio for a few minutes), Rafael Pavarotti, and Norman Jean Roy.
Moving on! One of my typical Week of Outfits posts would be quite repetitive right now, because I am literally wearing the same few pieces over and over. So instead of pressuring myself to pick new and “interesting” outfits every day for the sake of documentation, here’s the real skinny.
In my 2026 mood board, I mention “neutral solids in classic silhouettes” paired with “personality shoes, bags, and jewelry.” The above outfit really captures what that looks like for me. It’s a perfect off-white sweatshirt from the GAP, straight leg 100% cotton jeans from Madewell, a black wool wrap coat - and then a belt from Toteme (great sale price still, if you’re in the market) and snakeskin print bag from Co. I bought on TRR recently. This balance just feels right to me.
